The Top 4 Reasons to Brand Your Blog - Yonder Design Co

It’s no secret that I absolutely LOVE branding. Honestly, I’m obsessed with every little piece that goes into creating an amazing blog brand.

But the fact of the matter is that that’s not the case for everyone. In fact, you might even think that branding is completely unnecessary–especially if you’re just a little blog!

I’m here to tell you that you couldn’t be more wrong.

Creating a cohesive brand–and sticking to it–is honestly one of the most important things you can do for your blog. Here’s why.

Reason #1: Cohesivity & Recognizability

Creating cohesivity and recognizability is so, SO important in this day and age. In 2019 there were over 500 million blogs out there on the internet, and that number is only growing as time goes on.

It can be really hard to stand out from the crowd, but one of the best ways to do that is with branding.

By branding your blog, you’re making yourself more recognizable. That means that each time someone lands on your page from Pinterest or from a Google search or from wherever else they might be coming from, they’ll immediately know that they’re on your blog and that your blog is one that they know, like, and trust.

Not only that, but if you have consistency across your entire internet presence from your Pinterest pins to your Instagram posts, people will know the second they see something of yours that it belongs to you and they’ll be more likely to click on it.

Reason #2: To Foster Trust & Build Your Tribe

When it comes to the online business and blogging world today, trust and authenticity are by far some of the most important things for creating a community of raving fans. And one of the best ways to create that trust and authenticity is through branding.

By branding yourself, you get to know your message better. When you know your message and you’re able to communicate it with your audience, they’re more likely to trust you and become a committed reader because they know what you’re all about.

Reason #3: To Help You Figure Out Where You’re Going

One thing you might never have thought of is that by branding yourself, you can actually figure out where the heck you’re going and what the heck you’re doing.

I know if you’re anything like me, you constantly have like a million different ideas floating through your head, and it’s hard to know which one is really the best to go with.

Well, once you brand yourself and your blog, you’re going to find that it’s a lot easier to figure out what to write next, what product you should create, or even what you should post on Instagram.

Because all you really have to do is ask yourself: does this fit my brand? How does it serve my mission? And suddenly you’re able to see whether something is worth doing or not.

Reason #4: To Show That You’re Professional

If you’re hoping to take your blog full time one day or even just make a profitable side hustle out of it, looking professional is going to become important sooner rather than later.

This is especially the case if you’re hoping to work with brands or land sponsored posts because brands and companies look for blogs that look like they’re a serious and quality operation rather than ones that look all over the place.

So by branding your blog, you lay that foundation of professionalism that’ll have brands knocking at your door.

And that’s it – the top 4 reasons you should brand your blog! Which one resonated with you the most? Let me know in the comments down below 🙂
